Kitchen and Dining

Finally got around to getting some pics of the Kitchen and Dining Room. The kitchen has had to adopt a sort of cluttered country kitchen look simply because of the limited cupboard space and nasty tiles etc. Its cute though and I do love cooking in it while Mr W sits at the island working away.

The dining room is small but perfectly formed and it fits our fab iron furniture just nicely. One day we will replace those plastic Ikea chairs... One day.

No Vacancies - part two

We finally got the internet sorted at the Snicket. So hopefully the updates can be a little more regular now, although the internet not being connected is not really the only factor in our neglect of the blog. We are still not unpacked. We still have loads of stuff that has nowhere to 'live' and Ikea are still doing very very very well out of us as we continue to collect more and more 'temporary' storage solutions. But I have finally uploaded to my computer some pics from my baby canon. So here's a little trip back to the beginning of our occupancy.

The day we finally traded in a small fortune for a set of keys and were ecstatically happy about it was a very exciting day indeed. It also happened to fall on a Friday. Friday the 13th. Unlucky for some perhaps, but for us it was a day of celebration and massive achievement.

Oh yes indeedy, we are excited :)

That giant '8' is not staying. It's huge and ugly but also stubbornly fastened so we have a tradesman booked to come and remove it. Desperate times.

This ice bucket was a house warming gift from Mum and Vin when I first moved over to Perth, now it's helping us celebrate our first home.

Love that stained glass.

First time driving in

Welcome home little car.

Champagne long gone (with the help of Sil the estate agent) on to some red. Gosh that kitchen actually  looks ok in this pic. I assure you, the bench and cabinets were a disgrace… chipped and rotten and just plain UGH!

Cant stand that awful kite window but its staying for now.

See how I open the window

I did that. With my foot. It felt great.

The calm before the sledge hammer wielding storm.

No Vacancies - part one

We're in. Its been a hectic couple of weeks of getting the kitchen ready and moving and making mess and cleaning up mess only to make more…. But we ARE in. The Snicket is fully Occupied.

Here are a few dodgy iPhone 'pre finding out iPhone camera was broken' pics….

Jason started out with the best intentions. His attention span however was not on board so we now have a couple of exposed brick and concrete 'features' in the kitchen and the ugly blue dot tiles were simply covered up in the end.

I noticed this little fellow poking his head out to see what all the kerfuffle was….

The kitchen delivery… (some of it anyway)

The boxes and the old kitchen remains starting to pile up...

I thought this was a big pile hence the pic… It was still but a baby pile at this stage.

I did this, with a jigsaw and everything, and I was proud...

The above earned me a tool belt, Mr W finally said I could have one...

Our beloved F&P that has spent the last two years filling the role of 'Worlds most expensive garage beer fridge' finally has a proper home...

Such a loooooong way to go...

Kitchen purchased...

Mr W and I ordered our temp Ikea kitchen today. We were planning on having them install it, however apparently there is a six week wait. Shit.

So we are going to install it ourselves. All I can say is, thank goodness its a temporary kitchen, cause I don't like its chances of a long life.

Anything will be better than this though...

Architect Selected!

Another box ticked. Ben is a lovely man and clearly very talented. Can't wait to see what ideas he comes up with…

It's a house! A real grown up house and it's all ours!

…Well, apart from the rather large fraction that belongs to the NAB.

Settlement is next week, first meeting with an architect is tomorrow. OMG.
